Virtual Event

Across Germany, engineers, developers, and designers are carrying the flag for innovation, which has long been the source of commercial prosperity and social progress for the entire nation. This is the story of the country’s fabled Mittelstand: small to mid-cap enterprises that range from family-owned businesses often with old local roots to ambitious and eager newcomers frequently gravitating towards the federal states’ many academic and commercial centers.

Every year, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) celebrates these engines of technological progress with a dedicated SME Innovation Day, an event aimed at showcasing state funded projects and their market success. This year’s event will take the form of a special digital edition, with lots of insightful webinars and a special matchmaking platform designed to get great ideas seen and heard by the people who can make them come true.

As one of the Mittelstand’s oldest IT enterprises with a long track record of innovation, Wibu-Systems will present its work on CmASICs as Secure Elements for Embedded Systems. Embedded technology has already established itself as an important building block in today’s smart industry, making at the same time embedded systems a favorite target for malicious actors. In this context, Wibu-Systems’ technology is available as CodeMeter Embedded and CodeMeter µEmbedded to beat back piracy, reverse engineering, and tampering with its protection and security capabilities as well as enable new business models with its licensing functionality. A perfect hardware companion for these CodeMeter modules is CmASIC a security integrated circuit available in VQFN package and featuring both USB and SPI interfaces. Thanks to the tough smart card chip on board, this tiny component is the perfect solution for storing licenses and keys right inside the system they are meant to protect.

Take part in this special edition of the SME Innovation Day and discover what Wibu-Systems and its many peers in Germany’s Mittelstand are doing for the technologies of the future.
