Messe Nuremberg, Nuremberg, Germany

Embedded World is widely recognized as a global platform and meeting point for the embedded community, bringing together experts, key players, and industry associations across hardware, software, tools, services, safety & security.
This is exactly where Wibu-Systems’ mission comes to life: enabling a secure digital world by protecting software IP and turning embedded innovation into sustainable business, through robust security, flexible licensing, and long-term trust.

Meet Us in the OSADL Collective Space

This year, we are again exhibiting as part of the OSADL collective space together with other OSADL members. OSADL’s ultimate goal is to help companies use Open Source Software in industrial products sustainably, supporting product development with expert knowledge and a broad network, assisting with compliance for legal requirements and safety/security standards, and representing member and community interests.

Featured Topic: Secure Licensing for Small Devices

Modern automation and embedded product design are increasingly driven by distributed intelligence, down to microcontrollers and other resource-constrained systems. Wibu-Systems addresses the specific challenges of licensing on small devices with a combination of CodeMeter Embedded and CmASIC, plus a lightweight library for microcontrollers focused on the core functions required for license and signature verification.

To make this work reliably on constrained targets, we pair it with an optimized license format engineered for minimal footprint and overhead. The result is a unique setup that enables bare-metal integration while delivering robust security without burdening CPU, RAM, or flash.

To fit seamlessly into real-world product ecosystems, our Custom Licensing Adapter and hybrid activation workflows integrate into existing licensing infrastructures, which is ideal for vendors already using CodeMeter License Central. Whether you secure functionality via digital signatures or protect critical code segments using CodeMoving, you get scalable licensing even on proprietary systems with limited OS support.

One licensing approach that scales across your full product portfolio, from microcontrollers to high-end embedded platforms.

How AxProtector 11.80 Represents a Game Changer

Wibu-Systems will also demonstrate how applications running locally on devices can be protected and licensed without requiring a runtime installation. Using AxProtector in combination with CmDongles, software publishers and intelligent device manufacturers can secure their applications with strong, hardware-backed protection, even in locked-down or offline environments.

This approach is already available for Python, .NET, and JavaScript applications and is complemented by AxProtector Compile Time Protection (CTP) for build-time hardening of critical code. With AxProtector 11.80, the same protection model is extended to native applications on Windows and Linux, allowing ISVs to apply a consistent licensing strategy across embedded devices and local software.

With this new release, AxProtector NC (Native Core) also enables native protection for Windows applications on both ARM and Intel platforms, as well as automatic CodeMoving for .NET, now directly selectable and applicable from the AxProtector GUI.

A practical highlight for vendors seeking maximum protection, minimal footprint, and unified licensing across heterogeneous deployment scenarios.

How to Upgrade to Long-Term Security With Post Quantum Cryptography

On March 10 at 2:15 pm, Oliver Winzenried, CEO & Founder of WIBU-SYSTEMS AG, will present: “How to Upgrade to Long-Term Security With Post Quantum Cryptography”.

As quantum computing advances, traditional cryptographic systems face obsolescence, putting long-term confidentiality, authenticity, and compliance at risk. This session explains the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC), including the principles behind the quantum-resistant algorithms selected by NIST, and how they help secure communications against emerging quantum threats.

You’ll also gain practical insight into:

  • Upgrade timelines and why “wait-and-see” is a risky strategy
  • Integration challenges in brown-field environments
  • The evolving regulatory landscape in Europe and globally
  • Actionable best practices to future-proof cryptographic infrastructure

From microcontrollers to native applications and from today’s security to post-quantum resilience, Wibu-Systems shows how to protect, license, and future-proof embedded innovation. Meet us at Embedded World to discuss how a unified security and licensing strategy can scale across your entire product portfolio.
