Mobility of information and services becomes more and more important. Companies and their staffs increasingly use a variety of interconnected communciation channels (mobile telephony, internet, etc.). This requires remote access and data integration structures to be safe and reliable. However, safety today cannot be assured by physical barriers, such as walls and doors, since data in the cloud is mobile. The data owner must be sure of data integrity when outsourcing or providing data to a SaaS provider.

This poses new security challenges requiring new concepts. At first glance, protecting the data use on mobile devices and the integration of service into the cloud seem two completely different things. However, a closer look shows that solutions concepts coping with the two problem areas can be identical.
