The Nürnberger Initiative for the communication industry (NIK e.V.) has called in all major German experts to assess how the Internet of Things (IoT) is impacting the industrial market segment. According to the current forecasts, 30 billion connected devices will be up and running by 2020. And it's no surprise considering that already in 2014 IoT related businesses are skyrocketing.
In general, the Internet of Things enables organizations to unlock the value of data; in the industrial segment this data can help manufacturers enhance productivity, create new products and services, and guarantee private and public safety.
The Embedded Forum is going to gather IoT experts from the manufacturing field, the key vendors and the research institutions, who will share their findings and visions about standards for wireless communication and localization systems, OPC Unified Architecture, development tools and their features in embedded networked systems, legal matters, safety considerations, and Embedded Security.
In the rich panel that will span from 1 to 6 pm, Günther Fischer, Senior Consultant, Licensing and Protection of Wibu-Systems, will cover "Product Protections" with Embedded Security – protection against reverse engineering, counterfeiting, manipulation, as well as business enablement: how to seamlessly optimize the security of your intelligent factory through a scalable and comprehensive platform like CodeMeter.
